BOAT REFIT: Generator Removal

Hey all!

We are back from our trip to Paris and are jumping right back into our boat refit and restoration. We have a lengthy list of projects to tackle, starting with removing our marine generator. It's scary to remove the generator because our Gulfstar 50 needs lots of power to run all of her systems, including the water maker, navigation electronics, lights, and refrigeration. We plan on creating this electricity through an updated solar array, a wind turbine, and a high-output alternator. Removing the generator will also give us tons and tons of open space in the engine room that could be used for some fun things, like possibly a marine washing machine. Anyway, removing this massive generator ourselves was a stressful an scary task. At one point, the entire generator was dangling about our new home on a half-inch piece of rope.

Thanks for following along with us on this journey!

Much love,

Kirstin & Andy
